Camp Recount
Learning Intention: I am learning how to write a creative story about our class camp at Ngamuwahine.
I am learning how to use descriptive language.
I am learning how to write a story with a beginning, middle and end.
I am learning how to edit/proof read my work.
Room 2 Camp: 2011
As Room 2 were almost at the Ngamuwahine camp site I was getting ready for the most exciting camp of my life.
I wasn’t really looking forward to walking in the bush for 3 hours, though it wasn’t as bad as I had thought it would be afterward we even got to go for a nice, refreshing swim in the Ngamuwahine river. That night we had to cook our own dinner, Our group had Nachos, Steak and egg burgers for dinner and chocolate ice cream for dessert.
Tuesday went by and not much happened. On Wednesday it was the main activity day and our group did the Posties walk first then the Beam, Abseiling, Climbing Wall, Vertical Playpen, The Centipede, and lastly Flying Fox. I completed all of them, except I couldn’t make it to the top of the Climbing Wall. I was really proud of myself when I made it to the top of the Vertical Play because when I was half way up, I wanted to give up and stop, but I stuck with it and made it to the top eventually. That night we had a game of spotlight, and it was awesome! I even won a game!
On Thursday the main activity was paintball and that was really fun because I got hit heaps and got left with lots of bruises. We also did Mountain Biking, Archery, Target Shooting and Rafting. It was a really fun day.
Camp had almost come to a close when the Clash of the Camp activity was here. My group won the clash of the camp and we all were given chocolates. So I left Ngamuwahine feeling three things, Proud, Happy and sad it had to end. I wouldn’t mind going back there in the near future.
